HEAR FROM YOUR INSTRUCTORS:

Michelle Winn

‘Movement is my love language and from a very young age I’ve loved to move.

And this love grew into a passion for teaching movement and helping others experience that same joy whilst achieving their individual goals.

I began my professional career as a Personal Trainer, working from a boutique studio in Cape Town South Africa and it was here that I attended my first Pilates class. And the rest, as they say, was history! I knew this was the path I wanted follow and in 2004 enrolled with The Source Pilates and Yoga to begin my Pilates teacher training’

Renee Watson

‘I have always been fascinated by the wisdom of the human body as shown in my dance background, nutrition and fitness studies. I have been teaching Pilates since 1997 and over the years, my teaching has evolved to integrate Yoga, breath work, anatomy, fascia, mindfulness, well-being and flow. I bring all these elements into my classes and private sessions in order to provide a unique experience for each person. As co-founder of The Source, I’ve had the privilege of presenting presenting our Pilates and Yoga teacher trainings around the world, offering retreats on an eco-island in Malawi, and working with international ciientele in Maldives’.

What makes the training with Conscious Movement Education unique?

Conscious Movement Education has offered Pilates teacher trainings around Southern Africa and internationally for almost 25 years. With headquarters in Cape Town (South Africa), our educating organisation has qualified many Pilates mat and equipment teachers around the globe. Developed by Renee Watson (Master Trainer, NPCT 10716), our courses are an evolving, contemporary style of Pilates. Incorporating mindfulness, flow, and 3-dimensional movements, we encourage students to develop their own unique style of teaching while still honouring the Principles of Pilates. Our emphasis on anatomy and understanding the human body, along with practical teaching skills means CME students emerge from the courses as compassionate and confident Pilates teachers. Our alumni have established themselves as highly regarded Pilates professionals, as successful studio owners, and also as host/mentor studios for courses. Conscious Movement Education Pilates courses are listed on the PMA (ITTAP) Registry of Schools, are recognised by CIMSPA, and are internationally portable.
