ADRENAL BURNOUT
If you’ve been experiencing prolonged stress, you may unknowingly be experiencing the onset of adrenal burnout.
Characterised by constant fatigue, insomnia, low blood pressure, back and joint pain, decreased immunity and anxiety, it is the result of the adrenal glands going into overdrive, eventually becoming underactive before suffering a full burnout.
Located just above the kidneys, the adrenal glands produce stress response hormones adrenalin and cortisol. Once they burn out, the impact can be debilitating.
Physical symptoms of adrenal burnout include constant fatigue that is not relieved by rest, insomnia, low blood pressure and/or blood sugar levels, back and joint pain, and decreased immunity such as glandular imbalances including hypothyroidism.
The emotional symptoms experienced include apathy, despair, anxiety and irritability. We engage in excessive behaviour such as working at a furious pace, intense exercise, and loud music (your body’s attempt to stimulate adrenals).
Lifestyle is often a primary cause – with heavy workloads, lack of sleep, and the demands of a fast-paced, high-stress lifestyle taking their toll on the adrenals. To avoid adrenal burnout and start your journey to lifelong wellness, reconnect with your essential self amid the surroundings of our sanctuary in Thailand.
At Kamalaya Koh Samui Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa we offer a series of Mental and Emotional Healing programs designed to help you rediscover the power of the mind and help you to create beneficial life changes in many areas.
The online Mind-Body Balance sessions are aimed at bringing balance to our emotional and mental realms which in turn affects the physical realm. Through a process of counselling, yoga Nidra, pranayama and meditative practices, your personal mentor will help you find this inner balance.
